Towards Maruti Alto and Hyundai rival Eon, Renault has officially introduced compact cars in India hachback KWID with prices from $ 4,700.
KWID will be manufactured at the factory Renault-Nissan joint venture in Oragadam, Chennai, and sold to Indian consumers later this year.
Vehicles operating on CMF platform by Renault and Nissan-A collaborative development with the appearance is a combination of hatchback and crossover line, ground clearance of 180mm.
A model of this segment possesses size 3.680mm long, 1.580mm wide and simply furnished cabins with 7-inch touch screen and digital instrument cluster. Renault said KWID will have space cabin and largest storage area in the segment.
Under the bonnet, Renault KWID 0.8L engine, accompanied by 5-speed manual transmission. Thus, vehicles will have fuel consumption saving.
Although India will be the most important market of KWID, but Renault said it was the international model, so it will be sold in other countries.
Under the plan, Renault KWID will be sold in India during the second half of 2015 with prices ranging from $ 4,700 to $ 6,275.
